Movetober Tip #1 – Do what you like

When it comes to finding something that you are going to do EVERY SINGLE DAY … which is the basic premise of MOVETOBER, you will make things much easier for yourself if you choose to do something you like to do.

If you like┬áthe idea of running, but you know you don’t actually like running, then scrub running off the list.

Remember, Movetober is not about losing weight. Movetober is simply about getting your body moving every single day of the month. That’s why my number one tip is to find something you like to do. That way, you have the best chance of completing the challenge. It doesn’t matter if the way you choose to MOVE doesn’t burn the most calories as that’s not what this is about.

I love running. I always have and always will. It’s also the easiest way for me to move – I walk out of my front door, and then half an hour later I am back. Done.

Some people love going to the gym. Some people love line dancing. Some people like to walk alongside while their child rides a bike.

Whatever you love to do, go with that. And obviously, you can like to do more than one thing – because realistically, no matter how much you love to do something, your ardour will start to fade if you do it every single day!

So I will mix up running with riding my bike and walking. If it’s an especially beautiful day and I can be bothered, I might even go swim laps at the pool.
