Meet your doctor Dr Javed Mahmud (Pavel)

With over 25 years of experience in dentistry, Dr Javed Mahmud (Pavel) is dedicated to helping patients restore their oral health, function, and confidence through compassionate, evidence-based care.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2000, Dr Pavel completed a Master of Surgery (MS) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, developing a strong foundation in surgical and complex dental treatment. Since moving to Australia and successfully completing the Australian Dental Council examinations, he has worked extensively in private practice and has been providing dental care to Victorian communities since 2015.

Dr Pavel has a particular interest in dental implants, oral surgery, bone and soft tissue grafting, and comprehensive restorative treatment. He regularly undertakes advanced professional training to stay current with the latest techniques and technologies in implant dentistry and surgical care.

Known for his calm and approachable manner, Dr Pavel believes that successful treatment begins with listening. He takes the time to understand each patient’s concerns, explain treatment options clearly, and develop personalised solutions that align with their goals and expectations.

Whether replacing missing single tooth to full mouth rehab with dental implants, managing complex surgical procedures, or helping anxious patients feel at ease, his focus remains the same: delivering high-quality treatment with honesty, precision, and genuine care.

Outside dentistry, Dr Pavel enjoys music, sport, and spending time with his family. Having lived and worked across different cultures, he values building long-term relationships with patients from all backgrounds and helping them achieve healthy, confident smiles.
