Supporting Accessible Dental Care

At The Smile Collective, we understand that cost can be an important consideration when planning dental treatment.

Our team aims to provide clear information about fees, payment options and available support programs at our dental clinics, so you can make informed decisions about your oral health care.

This page outlines the payment options, health fund claims, and government schemes that may apply to your circumstances.

The Smile Collective Payment Options

Payment for treatment is required on the day of service unless other arrangements are made in advance. We accept payment by cash, EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard and Amex.

If you would like to explore staged or flexible payment options, our team can provide details about available plans during your consultation.

The Smile Collective Dental Payment Plans

Payment plans allow eligible patients to pay for treatment in instalments over an agreed period. These may be structured as weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments, depending on the plan provider. Terms, fees and eligibility criteria vary.

Please speak with our reception team before your appointment to learn more about available payment plan options.

Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is a Commonwealth-funded program that provides financial support for basic dental services for eligible children aged 0–17 years.

Eligible services may include:

  • Dental check-ups
  • X-rays
  • Cleaning
  • Fillings
  • Extractions

The CDBS provides up to $1,052 in benefits per eligible child over two calendar years. To be eligible, the child or their parent/guardian must receive an approved Centrelink payment such as Family Tax Benefit A.

Please contact our reception team to confirm eligibility and how the CDBS can be applied at our dental clinics.

Other Government Programs

We also provide dental care for patients eligible under government programs including:

  • Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)
  • Transport Accident Commission (TAC)
  • WorkSafe

Please bring your current card or approval details to your appointment so our team can process claims appropriately.

The Smile CollectivePrivate Health Insurance & HiCAPS

If you hold private health insurance with dental (Extras) cover, you may be able to claim a rebate for eligible treatments. Our clinics support HiCAPS, allowing on-the-spot claims with most major health funds.

We are also a preferred provider for HCF, meaning eligible members may receive set benefits or no-gap services for selected treatments, depending on their level of cover. Please contact your health fund for details about your entitlements.

The Smile CollectiveAccessing Superannuation for Dental Treatment

In some cases, patients may be eligible to access their superannuation on compassionate grounds to pay for necessary dental treatment.

We can provide information about this process and refer you to Access My Super, an independent organisation that assists with applications to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Eligibility is determined by the ATO under strict criteria.

The Smile CollectiveAppointment Policy & Cancellations

Appointments are reserved exclusively for each patient. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice to allow us to offer the time to another patient. A cancellation fee may apply for short-notice changes.

SMS reminders are sent prior to your scheduled appointment.
